It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed Board member Frank Dorchak pictured here with his wife Wanda. Frank has been an active Board member since 2019 and devoted a tremendous amount of his time, energy and dedication to HBA. Frank was the chair of the Building committee and was instrumental in finding our current location. He played a huge role in fundraising including the previous leasing of our retreat property, the acquisition of our land on Route 30 and then moving forward with the plans for the new lodge. Frank had the dream of an Adirondack lodge overlooking the first pond where Veterans will come and heal from the hardships of war, military service and PTSD.
Frank was relentless in his pursuit of this dream in hopes that we would have the lodge built by the end of summer 2022. We will carry on this dream and continue his quest to have a place for Veterans and their families to relax, heal and enjoy the wonders of the Adirondacks mountains.
Rest peacefully Frank, we know you are watching our progress . Our thanks to you and Wanda for all you have done and we promise we will carry this dream forward.
